Amy: Online/Skype Piano Teacher
Our online/Skype piano teacher Amy offers piano lessons in all styles of music for ages 2 and above, from beginner to advanced. This piano teacher has a Master of Music degree and a wealth of experience both teaching and performing on piano. Amy has been teaching piano lessons since 2014. In her days as a regular performer in her hometown of Denver, Colorado, Amy was known to emulate her idol, Victor Borge, and infuse personality and comedy into her concerts. She has performed solo concerts at her college in Ithaca, as well as at local churches and assisted living facilities. While this piano teacher enjoys solo piano immensely, she prefers making music with people and collaborating. She has performed with all sorts of chamber ensembles, orchestras, theater productions, and one rock band. Currently, this piano teacher is in a professional clarinet/soprano/piano trio and works as the musical director at an opera house in Hamburg, Germany, where she plays in and/or conducts the shows on most weekends. As a pianist who loves collaborating, accompanying has not only been her livelihood, but also her passion. She has accompanied concerts with every type of orchestral instrumentalist, including percussionists and a harpist, as well as with every voice type on more than a dozen professional Liederabende. Amy was her mother’s choir accompanist starting at age twelve, and not a year has gone by without her accompanying a choir ever since. She also composes, arranges professionally, and writes songs. This piano teacher loves helping her students to find their own creativity, and often integrates composition into her piano lessons. Amy is a well-rounded, collaborative pianist with a wide range of interests and skills who thinks no challenge is insurmountable and loves to nurture this philosophy in her students.
